He couldn’t escape a dangerous street

He lived in an area that even pizza delivery drivers would avoid. To escape, he played hoops at the local rec center.

Toot Toot” was a bright kid, full of life and laughter — but that didn’t protect him from the danger of Winston Road. During the previous three months, two people were shot and killed on that street.

On July 19, 2018, Emanul M. Banks, 18, was killed outside a home on Winston Road in Columbus, Georgia. Banks died of multiple gunshot wounds 50 feet away from a flower memorial honoring a man who was fatally shot in May.
