Elijah D. Lacey

Age 18

Indianapolis, Indiana

He had passion for wrestling, teaching

He just wanted a cap and gown to make his mom proud after his father passed five years ago.

A senior at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, he had a passion for wrestling and would teach the sport to younger students. He had also wrestled at Warren Central High School on the Eastside of Indianapolis.

On the afternoon of Memorial Day, one week before his graduation, two men approached him while he sat in a pickup truck. One pulled out a gun to commit Indy’s 61st murder of 2018. Elijah Lacey, 18, died outside of Crown Liquor on May 28, 2018.
