Nunez Park grieves loss of regular

He was a star on the court and in the classroom.

LaTanya Anderson’s baby “lived basketball” and dreamed of making it to the NBA. He wore jersey No.1 and played for the Regional Bulldogs. He was popular among his classmates and teachers for earning top grades and being a “jokester” — an honor roll student with so much more to accomplish.

He practiced often at the Nunez Park basketball court in East Chicago, Indiana. It was at this park on May 5, 2018, that David Lee Anderson, 11, was shot in the head, another youngster from George Washington Elementary school lost.
