Damir Young-Hunt

Age 18

Gary, Indiana

He’ll rap and dance no more

The Calumet New Tech High School student was known for spontaneously rapping and dancing, energetically spitting bars and busting moves. His favorite artists were Scrilla King, Drama B, Infamous D, Chief Keef, Wiz Khalifa, and Trina.

Friends of “DayDay” admired him for being “smart and driven” and described him as “goofy and so much fun to be around.” His girlfriend said his love was “truly one in a million” and that he was “an angel in disguise.”

On April 15, 2018, Damir Young-Hunt, 18, was shot in Gary, Indiana. He died at the scene from a gunshot wound.
