Lake Village, Arkansas
Small-town boy, fisherman and hunter
He lived about 125 miles southeast of Little Rock, Arkansas, in a place called Lake Village, known for a community lake filled with crappie, bass, bluegill and catfish. He was passionate about hunting and fishing.
He also enjoyed spending time with his family and playing football. “That smile and his full of life ways will be greatly missed!” wrote Bernice McCray, a teacher.
On Aug. 21, 2018, Ronnie Nelson called 911 to say that he had accidentally shot his son. Christopher Don Nelson, 14, was airlifted to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, where he died two days later.
