A devastating case of "mistaken identity"

An entrepreneur with a clothing line called Space Jam Cam, he had a new job in a student program in the Information Technology Department at Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

His basketball coach said he showed “unparalleled respect and humility on and off the floor.”

On Oct. 4, 2018, Cameron Nolan Martinez, 18, was driving with friends on New Mexico State Road 68 north of Española when two cars opened fire. Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said it was a case of mistaken identity. They held his memorial service at his high school’s gym.
