Aric Whaley

Age 17

Loveland, Colorado

He helped his neighbors shovel snow

He had a strong conscience; his father said he "just did good things because they were good to do."

He helped his neighbors shovel snow. He mowed lawns. The 17-year-old once spent half his paycheck buying meals for the homeless. When he wasn’t working or with his fiancée, he was at North Lake Park, where he skateboarded along the curved paths and took photographs of sculptures.

The park was just a few blocks away from his house in Loveland, Colorado, where Aric Whaley was shot and killed on the morning of Sept. 4, 2018. The suspect, who was charged with manslaughter, was 18.
