Anton L. Shaw

Age 15

Chicago, Illinois

He was going to be a designer

Though his family had moved to DeKalb, Illinois, he was living with his grandmother so he could attend Foreman College and Career Academy in Chicago, Illinois. A rising freshman, he was a point guard, passionate about basketball.

One night he headed out for food. Perhaps he was thinking about the clothing line he began in 8th grade, his dream of studying design in college, or the relative he lost in July to gun violence.

Anton L. Shaw, 15, was shot and killed on Oct. 14, 2018. Foreman played its first game five weeks later.
