Alexander James Burger

Age 17

Bailey, Colorado

He wore his uniform with pride

He was a student-athlete who loved dessert. A proud Wheat Ridge High School “Farmer,” he sported his athletic uniform and lacrosse stick with confidence.

"He was a friend to everyone and would give you the shirt off of his back," his older sister wrote. His community, in recognition of his generous and kind nature, raised $34,705 in his honor, surpassing his sister's initial goal of $25,000.

Alexander James Burger, 17, was shot on June 3, 2018, during a violent confrontation with an employee of Echo Valley Ranch near Bailey, Colorado. Burger died of a single gunshot wound.
