Tashawn Le'bron Gallon

Age 7

Jacksonville, Florida

First grader, long curls, shy smile

He had long curls and an adorably shy smile. He was a first-grader at Smart Pope Livingston Elementary School, where he loved to play football, and also blow bubbles at recess. His family said he was outspoken and full of life.

At the time, he was playing in the front yard of a home in Jacksonville, Florida where several people were hanging out. An SUV suddenly pulled up and began shooting, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said. People shot back. He was caught in the crossfire.

Tashawn Le'bron Gallon, 7, was shot and killed on Feb. 18, 2018. The bullet came from a person who fired in self-defense, authorities later said.
