They took one girl, two lives

She was preparing for the birth of her daughter. At 14, the eighth-grader was eight months pregnant.

She planned on joining the Army. She also loved singing and dancing and was a fan of Beyoncé and Rihanna. On a Monday evening in November, she was babysitting her three nephews. She was eating ice cream when the bullet came through the ceiling.

Sonja Star Harrison and her unborn baby were killed on Nov. 19, 2018, by a stray bullet at an apartment complex in Atlanta. "Not only they took one life,” her mother later said, “they took two."
