Honor student with plans to enlist

Hoping to join the Navy and to take his girlfriend and their unborn daughter with him, he graduated from high school early — with honors. His family described him as a “loving son and brother” who took “amazing care of his sisters.”

According to police, his girlfriend was smoking marijuana one night with a 17-year-old boy at Runyon Lake in Pueblo, Colorado. He confronted them.

Elijah Michael Naranjo, 17, was shot and killed on Oct. 25, 2018. “Where I’m from, ain’t nobody got no role models,” his last Facebook post read, “we just know some (people) we don’t wanna be like.”
