High school senior set to graduate

He had begun his senior year of high school, “a great student” at Garfield Heights High School, set to graduate.

He had just been hired at Target and expressed his excitement to his father. He was described as funny, smart and outgoing.

On Sept. 5, 2018, Manuel Lopez Jr., 17, was found face down on his driveway along with his 19-year-old sister, Giselle. Both were shot multiple times by their mother’s boyfriend after they left the house following an argument. Manuel was taken to Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights, Ohio where he was pronounced dead. Giselle died in surgery. Their mother survived.
