“Beautifully flawed” father’s life cut short

He had always wanted to be a father, and he took on his role with pride, holding his daughter close and treating her like a princess. She was his whole world — a baby girl with his eyes and goofy sense of humor.

A talented basketball player, he was a star on and off the court. He valued loyalty and kindness above all. One of his teachers fondly called him “a beautifully flawed person.”

Khobi Cyan Eiland, 18, was shot to death on East 29th Avenue and Glencoe Street in Denver, Colorado on Sept. 7, 2018.
