Jeremy Jay Stewart

Age 16

Alva, Florida

Loved the outdoors until the end

He loved to drive his four-wheel vehicle, spending time in the great outdoors. The wilderness was his playground  — a place to fish and go air boating with his uncle.

He previously attended Riverdale High School in Alva, Florida. He was known around as the “King” of bartering, a resourceful person who could swap and trade.

Jeremy Jay Stewart, 16, was shot and killed on Nov. 17, 2018 alongside Jody Hughes, a 19-year-old father; they attended a bonfire party in a wooded neighborhood in Alva. The suspect confessed to the murders, admitting that he had done so while impersonating a police officer.
