Jaimone Alonzo Joubert

Age 18

Fort Worth, Texas

Teen was lighthearted and humorous

A caption from his 2013 YouTube video read “Thank god I’m alive.” He posted screenshots of his conversations with friends, many of them lighthearted and humorous. The words beneath his wide-grinning selfies, however, told a different story. “I’m crazy. My life is horrible.”

At 18, he went to the parking lot of the Drummers Inn motel in Fort Worth, Texas. He attempted to purchase marijuana with fake cash. His dealer pulled a gun.

Jaimone Alonzo Joubert was shot and killed on July 27, 2018. Four years, nine months and 18 days after he thanked god for his life.
