He was just 11 years old, but already an avid hunter and very familiar with guns,” according to the sheriff’s account of his death. He had also taken a hunter’s education class.

He found a pistol in his parents’ closet. Minutes later, the police had arrived, and his mother was performing CPR. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Jacob Shane Hoch died on March 21, 2018, in Martinsville, Texas from a single gunshot wound to the head.
