Emmanuwell Leigh Nelson

Age 17

Spring Lake, North Carolina

Easy-going boy gone too soon

Just like a family, he and his friends had a close knit group. They hung out with each other’s families and went hunting together. He was easy going and a comedian.

A North Carolina resident, his friends and family called him Eman. The 17-year-old would occasionally post photos on Facebook, capturing what he loved most: good company and a treasured watch.

The tone to these social media posts has taken a different form now. On Sunday evening, Dec. 2, 2018, Emmanuwell Leigh Nelson was shot and killed on Hillandale Drive, in Spring Lake, North Carolina.
