Dejuan Hill

Age 18

Memphis, Tennessee

Birthday celebration turned into a memorial

At 18 years old, he was hardworking, graduating from Northwest Prep Academy and starting a job at Williams-Sonoma Warehouse.

Friends say he was a jokester. His birthday was coming up in less than a week. He had a community of loving friends and family who planned on celebrating him. While they did celebrate his life, it was for another reason: to remember him.

Dejuan Hill, 18, was fatally shot in Memphis, Tennessee, on May 6, 2018, four days before his 19th birthday. He was shot in a parked Chevy Malibu when a gold vehicle pulled up next to him and five other friends. Another also died, and the other four were injured.
