Alphonso Hornsby

Age 15

Augusta, Georgia

Young comedian with a good heart

A teacher at Glenn Hills Middle School called him “Lonso.” His family called him “Mann Mann” and “King.”

He liked recreational basketball and was a leader on and off the court. He was funny, and didn’t hesitate to make fun of himself.  “Almost everything he said would make you laugh,” Mikeem Gaines, a childhood friend, said. “He was an all-around good-hearted person.”

Alphonso Hornsby, 15, was pronounced dead on June 4, 2018 after being shot multiple times in the chest in his neighborhood of Audubon Place in Augusta, Georgia.
