She had a beautiful wide smile. She was a senior at Southern Lee High School in Sanford, North Carolina, and wanted to go to community college. She had big dreams and a job. She was working hard for her future, and could not wait to hold her baby girl.
“She was just a wonderful child. Everyone who met her, she would light up the room when she walked in,” her aunt said.
Aiyonna Clarice Barrett, 18, was nine months pregnant when she was fatally shot in the back of the head allegedly by her boyfriend in Southern Pines, North Carolina. Her unborn child was also killed.
