Tyree Reid

Age 18

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Big brother to kids he mentored

In a video for NorthEast Treatment Center, he shares his story as a peer mentor: “I really can see a difference in how I used to act and how the kids act now.”

He saw himself as their big brother, giving them “the easy way out.”

On June 20, 2018, Tyree Reid, 18, was shot multiple times in the chest in Philadelphia. He collapsed on the street, just a few feet away from his dark blue bike and died moments later. Authorities believe that he was the intended target.
