Sarah Nicole Wolfe

Age 8

Jacinto City, Texas

A peaceful nap, broken by violence

She had a wide grin, and sparkling brown eyes that matched her chestnut hair. People called her “princess.”

Like many 8-year-olds, she cherished riding bikes, running, swimming and playing with her half-brother Phillip, 12. Like most sisters, she also enjoyed fighting with him. But on July 12, 2018, they were just taking a nap at their grandmother’s house.

Police said their grandmother left for 30 minutes to run errands. Their father arrived and entered the house. He took Phillip Isaiah Bernal and Sarah Nicole Wolfe, 8, to a mobile home 15 minutes away in Jacinto City, Texas and shot them, then killed himself.
