Addison Sanders

Age 10

Chicago, Illinois

Nicknamed "The Twinkies," they died together

In picture after picture, she smiles toothily, wisps of tightly coiled hair escaping from her ponytail. In some photos, she holds a peace sign; in one, she sucks in her cheeks like a goldfish.

Her nickname was Addi, and friends described her as amazing, nice and creative. Her mother called her and her twin brother “the Twinkies.”

Addison Sanders, 10, a student at Walt Disney Magnet School in Chicago, Illinois, was shot and killed by her father on Aug. 27, 2018. Addison’s father also killed her twin brother before he turned the gun on himself.
