Wilvens Idoris

Age 15

Orlando, Florida

Wrong crowd. Wrong place. Wrong time.

He was learning how to drive and navigating a new high school, Positive Pathways in Orange County, Florida. His father was his best friend.

The Boca Club apartment complex was “filled with children” and usually very safe, thanks to security that kept shootings “uncommon.” Still, his father worried that his son was running with the wrong crowd: “I did my best, but my best wasn’t good enough,”

Police found Wilvens Idoris, 15, dead from a gunshot wound to the head in a grassy strip between two buildings at the Boca Club apartments in Orlando on July 1, 2018.
