William Eddy Parsons

Age 15

Providence, Rhode Island

His backpack held only his schoolwork

He would wait at the bus stop for his mom on the days she’d take the second shift. He took out the garbage without being asked and picked up his younger sister from school.

Nicknamed “Eddy” by his family, he played recreational basketball and listened to Tupac. He wanted to become a Rhode Island State Trooper; he planned to apply for the academy after graduating from high school.

He never finished high school or became a trooper. On September 5, 2018, William Parsons, 15, was shot outside the Providence Career and Technical Academy in Providence, Rhode Island, while wearing a backpack carrying his schoolwork.
