Therin W. Castillo Jr.

Age 15

Sierra Vista, Arizona

Stolen gun, Russian roulette, accidental death

A photo remains on his GoFundMe page, which raised $4,135 of the $5,000 his family wanted.

Friends called him Boogie and described him as “funny (and) very athletic.” He was a student at PPEC TEC High School, a charter school for at-risk kids.

One Sunday afternoon, he was sitting in a parked car with two friends outside an apartment complex in Sierra Vista, Arizona, with a stolen gun. He started playing Russian roulette. Therin W. Castillo, Jr., 15, died of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head on Feb. 18, 2018.
