Tavarius Jenkins

Age 18

Jacksonville, Florida

More than just a Jacksonville statistic

He lived in a peaceful and quiet northwest Jacksonville, Florida, neighborhood with his family, including two brothers.

He was a senior at First Coast High School planning to graduate in the spring. A classmate and neighbor knew him as someone “who had stuff going for him,” and who was dedicated to school and future plans after graduation.

On Sept. 8, 2018, Tavarius Jenkins, 18, was shot and killed with a handgun in his own home on Guellege Drive. He was the 10th teenager fatally shot in Jacksonville in 2018.
