Faith-filled summer ends too soon

She was known for being a leader and a light at school. “She was a middle schooler, but she walked like a high schooler,” one family friend observed.

The director of the neighborhood Christian summer camp she attended witnessed her faith every day, and knew that “she loved God most of all.”

On June 12, 2018, Tateanna James, 12, was on her way to summer camp in her hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, when she was accidentally shot by her younger brother with a semiautomatic pistol in the family’s vehicle.
