Bullets took away a brother’s keeper

He was the mischievous older brother – playing pranks on his younger siblings and leaving sodas in the freezer so that they would explode on an unsuspecting family member.

He was also the loving and protective sibling, especially of his younger brother who is hard of hearing; he got a tattoo that said “My Brother’s Keeper” to honor their relationship.

On Sept. 22, 2018, Sonny Salvador Vidales Jr., 15, was shot through his bedroom window in San Antonio. He ran into his mother’s bedroom screaming “Mom please help me! I’ve been shot!” before collapsing dead on the floor in front of his 3-year-old sister.
