A future scientist and beloved sister

The senior at DeLaSalle High School hoped to one day become a forensic scientist -- a career at which her teachers said she would excel..

She loved listening to music, especially Beyonce, Avery Wilson, and Joel Adams. She was one of nine siblings and had just recently celebrated a milestone birthday: her 18th.

On an autumn afternoon, a group of people surrounded her on East 114th Street, near Longview Road. They were tending to her injuries. Serenity Latrice Roby-Williams died of gunshot wounds on Oct. 20, 2018, in Kansas City, Missouri.
