Age 16

Dreams of modeling, taken one night

She told her dad that she had dreamed of becoming a model. Anyone might have guessed that she would be a natural just by looking at a picture of her, standing tall and proud.

Her friends called her by her nickname, Zoe. She loved makeup. She was a shining face in the halls of Western Guilford High School. “So bright, so beautiful, so blunt, so Ms. Sassy,” a classmate described her. She was full of energy and encouragement.

On March 26, 2018, Sateria Zoe Fleming, 16, was walking down a street in Greensboro, North Carolina, when she was fatally shot in the head.
