Known by his nicknames “lil Sam” and “900stickz,” the John Adams High School student loved his family, especially his mother and sisters, according to comments posted online.

“He was my Ohana,” Shamara Nichouls posted on Facebook, referring to the Hawaiian word meaning family. “Your big sister will always love you.”

Samuel Nichouls, 17, was shot multiple times in the head and torso on February 7, 2019 in Cleveland. Responders pronounced him dead in the driveway, with at least a dozen bullet casings surrounding his body.
