“Funny Tail” was her favorite student

His teacher loved him and remembered him as her favorite student. The two had a close relationship, and she fondly referred to him as “Funny Tail.”

He was a joyful 16-year-old. A friend remembered the many nights he spent sleeping over at her house when the walls would echo with his laughter.

On April 15, 2018 Rodger Young Jr. was shot and killed outside the Infiniti Sports Bar and Grill on North Watkins Street in Memphis, Tennessee, during a shootout that witnesses said lasted about an hour.
