Shot on his way to school

It was 6:45 a.m. and he was getting ready for school. Nicknamed “Dookie,” he was excited to show off the new clothes he got for Christmas.

He had a son, Za'Vion Pendleton. He lived near Shawnee Park, five miles west of where his father was shot and killed in June 2016. A senior, he was expected to graduate from Valley High School this June.

Richard Harper, Jr., 18, was shot on his way to the bus stop on Jan. 7, 2019, in Louisville, Kentucky. He died at University of Louisville Hospital. Police found his backpack at the scene.
