Raymond Phillips Jr.

Age 15

Baton Rouge, Louisiana

A new chapter, a sad ending

Known by his nickname — “TJ” — he adored the color red. He enjoyed basketball. He was the life of the party and loved collecting new shoes.

Having recently moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he was just starting a new chapter in his life. A seventh-grader at Broadmoor Middle School, he woke his sister up every morning, had fun hanging out with friends and made sure he always looked good for girls.

Raymond Phillips, Jr., 15, was shot and killed on Feb. 15, 2018, in Baton Rouge. Police arrested a suspect; he was 16 years old.
