Pierre Williams

Age 15

Chicago, Illinois

Memories in his school bow tie

He went to Excel Academy, a public accelerated high school in Chicago, Illinois. Less than a 10 minute walk from Excel, Lake Michigan’s waters lapped against Rainbow Beach. He could be found in the hall in a sea of 185 students in purple and yellow bow ties.

Last spring before graduation, students chanted “South Shore, you know!” In a few years, it would’ve been his turn. Their spirit was also strong with their basketball team, the Broncos.

On July 26, 2018, Pierre “Li'l P” Williams, 15, was killed in a drive-by shooting. Within a 36-hour period, he was one of six kids shot in Chicago.
