The town where lived was peaceful and quiet. It was nice weather to get outside on the night he decided to go for a walk.

At 1:17 a.m. on April 27, 2018, two residents of Hanahan, South Carolina, called 911. Payton Robert Velarde, 15, was gunned down in the middle of the street. It was the town’s first homicide since 2016.
