Omar Zaragoza

Age 17

Antioch, California

He was the one “making it”

He loved Ralph Lauren’s clothing, so he was nicknamed “Polo.”  A student at Antioch High School, “he just happened to be one who was making it" in life, a friend said.

One Tuesday afternoon, he parked his grey Mercedes E-350 in the Lucky supermarket parking lot, not far from where he lived. Soon after, the windshield was pierced with bullet holes.

Omar Zaragoza, 17, was shot and killed on Oct. 9, 2018, in Antioch, California. The next day, a memorial was set up for Zaragoza outside of the Lucky store. The balloons read, “Polo.”
