Nicholas W. Cerutti

Age 17

Cleveland, Ohio

“The coolest kid I’ve ever met”

He was an outdoorsy type, happiest when surrounded by nature. He tinkered with cars and had worked as a cook.

At school, he went out of his way to include everyone, even the new kids. “He was, without a doubt, the coolest kid I've ever met,” a friend said.

On Sept. 4, 2018, he and two friends went to meet someone at a house on Sophia Avenue on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio. Behind the house, there was a shot. He ran to the front of the house clutching his chest. Nicholas W. Cerutti, 17, died at the hospital.
