His nicknames include Nate Dawg, Hop, and Bub. He graduated from Logansport High School in 2018 and was continuing his education at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana. He loved animals and watching sports. His favorite color was blue and his favorite number was nine.

On Feb. 3, 2019, Nathaniel Joe Hopper was fatally shot the head while at home in Peru, Indiana. The family sold blue bracelets and blue balloons to raise money for the funeral expenses.
