Brother scored 38 points for him

His brother, #5 for the Warhawks at University of Louisiana Monroe, scored 38 points for him. After the basketball team’s 88-79 win over Georgia Southern, the senior-year guard revealed his motivation.

"My little sister told me not to hang my head," Daishon Smith said. "Know that he loved me, play hard for him and go out there and give it everything I've got. I wanted to do it for him."

His younger brother, Marquis Smith, 17, was shot and killed by a cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida, on Feb. 5, 2019.
