Marli J. Alonso

Age 18

Reading, Pennsylvania

The teen’s family was his world

The 18-year-old lived in Reading, Pennsylvania, but was originally from Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. Loved ones called him kind, generous and a sweet soul.

Family was one of his greatest treasures, which he “loved more than anything.” He always looked after his younger brother, whom he advised to “stay off the streets.” He loved his mother dearly and always talked about her.

On the evening of Dec. 12, 2018, Marli J. Alonso, a student Abraxas Academy, was found dead with a gunshot wound in Reading.
