Maliyah Rose Palmer

Age 6

Florissant, Missouri

Christmastime. She died on Holly Lane.

It was just 11 days before Christmas, and they lived on the first block of Holly Lane.

She was the youngest in a family of five, a first-grader at Green Trails Elementary school in Mrs. Ellinger’s class. Her 16-year-old sister was babysitting her and her brother while their parents were at a Christmas party. Finding a 9-mm handgun in a dresser drawer in their parents’ bedroom, her 12-year-old brother “accidentally discharged a round.”

Maliyah Rose Palmer, 6, was shot in the head and killed a little before 11 p.m. on Dec. 14, 2018. She died at the hospital.
