Malik Rasheed Williams

Age 17

West Palm Beach, Florida

Killed outside of his own home

Photos show how he grew: Malik graduating from daycare, proud in a shiny green cap and gown. Malik with his sister, laughing as if they’ve just shared a joke. Malik in a hoodie, biting his lip. Then the memorial, a stuffed Curious George and three candles.

On Nov. 20, 2018, shots were fired in a neighborhood in West Palm Beach, Florida.

When the police arrived, Malik Rasheed Williams, 17, lay dead outside of his home. His bed remains as he left it, unmade. “When they shot and murdered my son, they murdered me on the inside,” his mother said.
