Makailuis L. Johnson

Age 18

Natchez, Mississippi

His loved ones called him “Woo”

He was in Natchez, Mississippi, a city on the Louisiana border that got the attention of actor Jamie Foxx. Foxx posted a Facebook video pleading with residents to put their guns down.

The message may have come too late for a teen who had a brother and went by “‘Woo.”

In the middle of the night on Dec. 15, 2018, Makailuis L. Johnson, 18, was fatally hit by multiple gunshots from what appeared to be a high-powered rifle. A random shooter attacked the car he was in. He was the city’s 11th murder victim of the year.
