Luisa Angela Aguilar Olivas

Age 15

Littleton, Colorado

She dreamed of helping immigrants

Six-thirty in the morning is when some students wake up to get ready for school. Time to brush teeth and comb hair, time for “good luck” waffles before that math test.

On a summer morning, at 6:30 a.m., maybe she was resting up for the day ahead, so she could be ready for a day of dancing with her 6-year-old sister. Or maybe she was awake, staring at the ceiling, thinking about her dream of one day being an immigration attorney.

Six-thirty on Tuesday morning, July 17, 2018 was when “Lulu” was shot. Luisa Angela Aguilar Olivas, 15, was rushed to the hospital in Littleton, Colorado. Two days later, she died.
