Age 10

Boerne, Texas

Left the monkeys a better home

On New Year’s Day, she visited the Austin Zoo, excited to see the monkeys. After hearing about a potential upgrade to the tortoise exhibit, she asked: “When I die, can you do that for the monkeys for me? They need a bigger cage.”

She “always looked to make friends,” whether it was helping a hungry family or the special needs kids at school. She expressed herself through journaling and painting.

London Sophia Bribiescas, 10, was shot dead inside her home on Jan. 10, 2019 in Boerne, Texas, along with her mother and sister. Her family is working with the Austin Zoo to upgrade the monkey enclosure in her honor.
