Kendrick Kitchens

Age 17

Goodman, Mississippi

Seventeen years gone in one second

Even though he was younger, he supported his sister like an older brother. He always reminded her how smart she was and how much he wanted her to return to school for her GED.

“We’ve both got each other’s back,” said Bree, his sister, in a Facebook post. “We always had fun and you keep me laughing.”

On Dec. 26, 2018, Kendrick Kitchens, 17, apparently shot himself in the right side of his head in a Goodman, Mississippi, apartment. Two days later, he died from his wounds at University of Mississippi Medical Center. The shooting is being investigated as an accident.
