Kasean Tuthill

Age 17

Yonkers, New York

He wanted everybody to be okay

His selflessness was evident in the smallest gestures, like when he would lend someone change, and in the bigger ones, like when he would welcome people into his home. He made sure “everyone was good before he was good” and “did whatever he could to support his family,” said his friend Cobe Soto.

He was often found at the park on School Street playing sports with friends, acquaintances or anyone else who was around, said Soto.

On Jan. 29, 2019, Kasean Tuthill, 17, from Yonkers, New York, was fighting with one of these acquaintances when he was shot in the back and killed.
